Business and Enterprise

Business and Enterprise are based on creating products and selling them and the objective of business and enterprise is to make more money than you started with thus making a profit.

There are 4 roles we had while working on this project, the CEO is the head of the company, their job is to ensure everyone is on track with their roles and to make choices, the next role is marketing manager, this role is important because they decide and order what we need to make out product, following up is the production manager, what the production manager does is make the product till we have enough to make a profit, and the last is the finance manager, the finance manager takes care of the money on market day and takes care of our budget.

During the market day, I've learned that its important to know what the customers desire before you actually decide and to see if it's actually enjoyable for the price, our company decided to go with sherbet and we knew what flavors to choose because we gave out a poll to people with different interests so we know what is better.

Forensics Blood Splatter

Hello, during forensics we have been taught about the patterns and how to calculate blood splatter. Blood spatter has two parts, the base, and the spine, the spine is the spikes that emerge from the blood, the spine is useful because it can determine how much energy was in the blood for example blood with no spines would most likely be from down to the knee while blood with vast spines the blood should have come off the head. the base is useful for calculating which direction the blood came from by measuring the width and length and putting it in this formula: Sin-1 (width/length) = answer.

Here is the work I have done on about blood splatters.

Forensic science Week 1 reflection

Forensic science is based on solving a murder using what's left behind at the scene. This job is important but risky because it helps us find out who is guilty to prevent it from happening again some other time, but it's risky because the suspect could frame the crime on someone else or the case could not be solved. Forensic scientists are the type of people that take part in this job, their roles are to find clues and solve them at the crime scene, these clues can be put into categories but they are overall useful, the best clues that can be found are either blood, skin cells, hair, clothing, etc, these are useful because they contain DNA, using DNA you can identify the suspect because all DNA is different for everyone making the identification sharper, but clues like footprints and tire tracks are also great because they can lead to the direction of the suspect. There are words that can be used for forensic science and you might have heard of them before, these keywords are victim, suspect, weapons, evidence, law, analysis, and genetic identification.

Is it a crime?

For forensics, we have been addressing what is a crime and what isn't
these are good examples
The first one is most likely a crime but the car might be his, the second one could not be a crime, the third one is 100% a crime but he could just be "taking the money to the bank", the fourth one is either murder or he's just a pirate :) probably, the fifth one is murder, suicide or someone just spray-painted it, the last one is not a crime but it could be intentional that he crashed into him.

Humanities Paragraph

In the novel abomination by Robert Swindell. article 1 of the human rights commission is breached by the treatment of slavery andBorn into a religious family, unable to talk about her family, no friends, no music, no magazines, never allowed to leave, and gets beaten commonly "What I'd like most of all is somebody to talk to.", Meaning Martha is being treated as she lives in confinement.

Gymnastics

 Hey readers

For the past 4 weeks, we have been doing gymnastics in PE. We have been using 6 apparatus - bar, beam, parallel bars, mini-tramp, floor mat, and trampoline

One challenge I found hard is doing the somersault to land on my feet but eventually, I landed the somersault.

What I'm proud of what I did is learning to do more than half of the skills we were taught.

Here is my assessment form.

The Land March

For social studies, we have been researching the New Zealand land march. this task took about a week and there were some struggles while I was making this. The task is to create a map of the route that the people walked, it was simple however it took a long time.

The places with the markers are where they stop and take breaks
the hardest part of the task was placing the markers.

Climate change is NOT a Lie

Climate change is NOT a lie, I don't think it is a lie because it has already been proven that it's real. Check this out. Scientists, and also others have shown the world that the atmosphere, the air we breathe is warming up with Carbon dioxide. As the air gets more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the air will become more toxic to inhale. Not only that, the environment will be in danger, the animals will have become extinct, there will be a higher risk of wildfires, and why would you try to colonize a whole new planet that is mars, instead of repairing a planet that's already dying. With more trees dying, the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is taking over faster. Humans are causing all this, thanks to us it's getting worse because people are tearing down habitats for more land, and more. Right now people are mutilating forests for wood, this is called deforestation and it's getting worse. The oceans will rise due to the ice melting to the growing heat, because of climate change. again, the ice is melting causing animals that used to live there to become extinct thanks to climate change. Here are all the reasons why climate change is serious and why it should be stopped.

Making a political party

Hello, for social studies we made a political party in groups of 3 to 6, our group was called mufti party because we say mufti will solve equality, some of our policies are no more kai time but not as you think, no more uniform, shorter time for some subjects, a longer time for some subjects, and quicker leaving time

our slogan was "try us you'll like us" but then we changed it to "equality is a need"

Our group is made of 4 people including Me, Isaiah, Sam, and Manaia

Our logo was a t shirt with our name over it

Concept of Heat

Hello, for chemistry, our class has been learning about the effects of heat, there are four new words that we have learned about, they are conduction, convection, contraction, and expansion, here are their meanings.

Conduction is when the heat travels through the solid causing it to vibrate.

Convection is the same but it travels through a gas or liquid.

Contraction is when the solid becomes smaller, this happens when you cool it.

Expansion is the opposite, including the part when you cool it.

Examples:

When you heat up a cube the cube becomes larger this is an expansion.

When the heat goes through the cube this will make it vibrate, this is called conduction.

When you cool the cube it will become smaller than it originally was, this is called contraction.

When you heat up a liquid, that will be called convection.

We have also done some experiments that explained these they used these: Contraction (imploding can), Expansion (ball and hoop), Conduction (dropping pins), Convection in liquid (permanganate crystal in water), Convection in gas (tea bag rockets)

Detailed Explanation

Conduction

Expansion and Contraction

Hard work leads to positive results.

Focus and it will be rewarding.

Everything has its own boundaries.

Follow the rules or you'll regret it.

Hello, for humanities we have three tasks to complete

Task 1: select 4 adverbs and use them in a sentence

Suddenly, I fell asleep quickly

Surprisingly, I came to school just on time

Quietly, I snuck to bed

Quickly, we ran to class

often the things we say, and the things we mean are two different things

cautiously he knocked on the principals door, and await a reply

Write that essay sentences

The 'W' sentence - makes the sentence sound thoughtful and knowledgeable

Remember the rule: not every 'w' word works as a sentence starter. remember to put the comma in when the parts affected by your 'w' word are finished.

Examples - who, while, whereas, when, where, what, whilst, and with.

Whilst the class was eating, I read my book.

Where you like chocolate, others prefer candy.

When it starts raining, you should go inside.

When you are bored, you should be helping others.

While you are playing sports, you should be concentrating.

While people are talking, you should be listening.

When you are in a test, you should be focusing.

With money, people buy valuables

When people are busy, you shouldn't be bothering them

When you are late, you should be hurrying up

The 'Ing' sentence

Use the -ing version of the verb e.g to run - running

Remember the rule - when you finish your - ing prase, place a comma then write the rest of the sentence

some - ing word - listening, watching, running, realizing, analyzing, emerging, grasping, speaking, signalling, exposing, gossiping, and acknowledging.

examples -

Realizing he was late, he ran to school.

listening to his friends, he remembered something.

analyzing the board, he wrote it all down.

acknowledging the band, they cheered.

emerging from the cocoon, the butterfly came out.

watching the performance, they were in awe

watching TV, I fell asleep

realizing the danger, the people fled from the city

during the match, they were focusing

gasping for air, he reached out to the surface

The 'ed' sentence

Use the ed version of the verb e.g to jog - jogged. This makes for a punchy start to your sentences.

Remember the rule - when you finish your -ed phrase, place a comma, then write the rest of the sentence.

Some -ed words - frustrated, surprised, excited, committed, undaunted, determined, overpowered, concerned, cornered, delighted, and enthralled.

Examples -

Frustrated by the noise, he went away.

Surprised by the performer, he applauded.

Excited for the party, they prepared quickly.

Committed to the game, they helped out.

Determined to find out, he carried onto it.

Overpowered by the advantages, they make use out of it.

Concerned by the question, he tried to correct himself.

Convinced by his friends, he went on.

Delighted by the food, he asked for more.

Cornered by the crowd, he looked for a quieter place.

Scared by the dogs, he ran far.

Write that essay

 The Adverb Sentence:

Adverbs describe verbs. e.g Surprisingly, confusingly, firstly, remarkably, often

Adverb sentence starters add interest or intrigue to our work.

Remember the rule: when you start a sentence with an adverb, place a comma after the adverb then write the rest of the sentence

Examples: Accidentally, shockingly, concerningly, excitingly, significantly, similarly, and simply.

Other types of examples: Against, between, over, behind, within, under, below, at, for, throughout, near, about

A preposition gives location or movement

Remember the rule: when you start the sentence with a preposition, you need to put a comma when the movement or position ends.

Preposition sentence examples:

In the beginning, we talked alot.

throughout the lesson, I tried to not fall asleep.

near, the basketball court, is the rubbish bin.

Under, my bed, I found my clothes.

Over, the hill, she waited.

Up, on the bridge, we talked.

During, interval we played.

Inside, we worked independently.

Outside, we ran to class

Here is what an adverb sentence might look like:

Firstly, I woke up early today

Simply, this morning I put on my uniform

Remarkably, I came to school early

Luckily, my friends came just on time

Swiftly, we ran to our next class

Quietly, we were given our sitting plan

Lastly, we went on writing this

Dirty water experiment

Hello, for chemistry we made dirty water

Method:

  1. Method:

    1. Use a 250mL beaker to get 200mL of water.

    2. Add 2 spoonfuls of dirt.

    3. Add 10mL of oil.

    4. Add a spoonful of pebbles

    5. Stir it for 2mins.

    6. Label a piece of paper with your names and place it under your beaker.

    7. Take a photo of your experiment.

Early finishers can finish off a google doc

In the end, the water didn't turn out as good as expected

Dirty water experiment 2
A week later we cleaned the water even more
here is the method we used
  1. Stir your dirty water for 1min.

  2. Using a measuring cylinder, measure 100mL of your dirty water into another beaker.

  3. Add 100mL of water to the dirty water.

  4. Stir for 2mins.

  5. Discard the original 100mL of dirty water.

  6. Repeat again.

  7. Take a photo of your experiment.

And here is the setup for our next experiment

We put a cloth on a funnel over another funnel that has filter paper in it, the cloth is used to get rid of dirt, and the filter paper is used to get rid of small particles.
this has made a huge improvement to the water as now we can't see a single piece of dirt.

Digestive system

Hello, for chemistry today I've been doing dissections and the next one I'm doing is a rat dissection. Before I start the dissection I have to learn about the important organs that make up the digestion system, the organs that I will be learning are the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, liver, and large intestine.

I'll be explaining these in their order above first is the esophagus, this organ is the first organ that the food goes through it connects the mouth to the stomach, this organ is used to break down the food before it gets to the stomach.

The stomach, this organ is where the food is broken down more using stomach acid.

The small intestine, this organ is next it is also used for breaking down food and so is the large intestine, did you know that the small intestine is seven meters long?

The large intestine, this organ is exactly like the small intestine it doesn't need much explaining but it is five feet long and three inches in diameter.

The liver, the purpose of the liver is to regulate the levels of chemicals in the body and to make it easier to digest.

Your Digestive System & How it Works | NIDDK

There are four keywords that are used to explain digestion these are.

Ingestion is the intake of food.

Digestion is the process of consuming the food

Absorption is the process of converting food into energy

Egestion is where you excrete the food out of the body

I hope you learned about the digestion system bye.

2021 Athletics/PE

Hello, this term I've been learning about PE and athletics here are the activities that I've been doing shot-put, discus, 100m sprint, long jump, high jump, and relay. On athletics day I only did high jump, 60m sprint, discus, and shot-put but I missed out on shot-put and high jump, for these activities I know a few tips for improvement. Shot-put requires momentum so use short run ups, discus also needs momentum, don't be distracted about your opponents during 100m sprint, long run ups give long jumps, try to move your entire body up when doing high jump and not just use your legs, and for relay you need to react faster when you have the baton just run when you feel it. I think I did well because I have participated each lesson with PE gear and I have given it my best on each activity, my favourite activity was discus because it was the best activity that I've done. My results for these activities are listed here

High jump: 1m

Shot-put: 4.9m

Discus: 13.9m

Long jump: 1m

100m sprint: 16s

These results are kinda bad except for sprints but I've got way better at both shot-put and discus

Well-beings of Haoura

Hello, for health our first lesson was about the four dimensions of Hauora - Physical, Spiritual, Mental, and Social

Some of these you can recognize just by looking at them but I will be explaining all the stuff I know.

Physical is about your health, anything related to health and sports can be used as examples

Spiritual is about your faith and beliefs Spiritual is basically about religion and believing

Mental is about your emotions, feelings, and thoughts

Social is about your connection with others so this will be about friends and family

Hauora is a Maori concept you can picture this in your mind as a house-made up of walls that follow these dimensions if one wall falls down the rest will too

Taha hinengaro - Mental

Taha wairua - Spiritual

Taha tinana - Physical

Taha whanau - Social

At school me and a friend made a house based on hauora, it looked like the one on the photo but we messed up on some parts even though we still tried and had it finished.
